Artist

Willa Stein Raleigh NC photographerWilla Stein has been involved in the photographic arts for over 30 years, starting out with a borrowed 35mm camera, a roll of film and a high school shop darkroom. Early on Willa primarily worked with black and white film and fell in love with the art of hand tinting using Marshall Photo Oils.

Willa learned the technique of hand tinting photographs while attending The Pennsylvania’s Governor’s School for the Arts on a scholarship at Bucknell University. Thereafter, she got a degree in photography attending the Art Institute of Colorado. The trajectory of her career had her working in numerous studios printing for other photographers and before long, she set out on her own with Willa Stein Photography.
